I am absolutely keeping this pink kitchen. That was my honest reaction the first time I walked through this Millwood house, and it still is. Built in 1951 and owned by the same family the entire time, this home is one of those rare finds where original does not mean outdated. It means cared for.

The Home

There is a difference between a house that has been maintained and one that has simply survived, and this one falls firmly into the first category. The kitchen is original, right down to the pink tile and cabinetry, and it is in genuinely pristine condition, not a project in disguise. A cozy fireplace anchors the living space, and the bedroom is bright and comfortable, the kind of room that makes a small house feel settled rather than tight. The whole home is move-in ready, which is unusual for a property this age. Most 1951 homes I walk through have been renovated at least once. This one simply has not needed it.

Outside, the lot sits at almost a quarter acre, which gives you real options. Garden beds, a fire pit, space for entertaining, or just a yard big enough to let a dog run without feeling boxed in. In a Millwood market where lots keep shrinking on newer builds, this is genuine breathing room.

What I Would Be Looking For in Person

On a home this original, my eye goes straight to the systems you cannot see in photos. I would want to know the age and condition of the electrical panel, whether the plumbing has been updated at any point, and what the roof and foundation look like up close. None of that is a red flag on its own. A one-owner home built in 1951 is often better maintained than a flipped version of the same house, but I always want documentation, not just a good impression. I would also walk the lot line and check drainage around the foundation, since a lot this size on an older property can hold water in ways that are easy to miss on a quick showing.

Ready to See It?

Houses like this do not sit on the market long, and they do not come around often. If you have been looking for something with actual history instead of a cookie cutter remodel, I would love to show you through it.
