When to Start Working With a Real Estate Agent in Spokane | Earlier Than You Think

Some of my favorite client relationships did not start with a signed buyer agreement or a formal consultation. They started with a conversation at a backyard gathering or a passing comment over coffee where someone mentioned they had been thinking about maybe moving someday.
That is enough for me. That is actually exactly where I want to start.
The Long Game
I had clients I had known for years before real estate ever came up between us. When it did it was not a big moment. It was offhand and unhurried and we both knew nothing was going to happen right away. But from that point forward I was paying attention on their behalf.
That meant sending homes I thought might be a great fit even when we were nowhere near serious. Checking in when something interesting hit the market in the neighborhoods they cared about. Having occasional conversations about what they wanted and letting that picture get clearer over time. Watching so they did not have to.
None of that felt like work. That is just how I think this is supposed to go.
1,204 Days
From that first casual mention to the day we closed was 1,204 days. In that time their picture of what they wanted got sharper and more specific. The market moved and we watched it together. And when they were finally ready we knew exactly what we were looking for.
We found a home with a curved staircase leading to the front door and a backyard built for the kind of hosting that matters – outdoor cooking space, fireplace, heaters, a television, room for everyone. It was the one. And it was worth every single day of that timeline to get there.
Why It Is Never Too Early to Reach Out
I think a lot of people hold back from calling an agent because they do not feel ready enough. They do not want to waste anyone’s time. They figure they will get serious first and then make the call.
I want to flip that completely.
The earlier you bring me in the better the outcome tends to be. Not because I am going to rush you toward a transaction but because the more time we have together before you are ready the clearer your picture gets, the more prepared you are financially, and the faster we can move when the right property shows up. In a market like Spokane and North Idaho where the right properties at the right price points do not sit long, that preparation matters.
I work with buyers and sellers across Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Deer Park, Chattaroy, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, and the surrounding Inland Northwest and I am genuinely in it for the long run. Whether your timeline is six months or six years I am just as invested in finding the right fit for your family either way.
What the First Step Actually Looks Like
It starts with coffee. I pull your numbers, hand you a net sheet so you know exactly what you would walk away with after the sale of your current home, and connect you with a lender I trust so you have a clear financial picture before you make any decisions. From there we figure out together what the timeline looks like and what we are watching for.
No pressure. No commitment. Just clarity and a plan.
If you are even just starting to think about it fill out my client questionnaire and I will reach out personally: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScYnNuFt-_i_oyF3-TkjVqIyEmIKfwJL3HOlHe1lZNjNlHJBA/viewform?usp=header
Or call or text 509-210-6581. It is never too early. That casual conversation is exactly where it all starts.
